Thin Air Nitrogen Solutions facilitates BGA (blue-green algae) Bio-fertilizer production through provision of goods and services to organic farmers, thus reducing carbon footprints and improving sustainability of irrigated organic vegetable farms in the western USA. Our focus market segment is irrigated organic vegetable farmers in the United States, beginning in Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas. BGA Bio-fertilizer is made by farmers on their own farms, resulting in cheaper fertilizer that doesn’t have to be transported and subsequent reductions in fossil fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. BGA bio-fertilizer can be injected into irrigation systems to deliver the fertilizer directly to plant roots, a distinct advantage compared to commonly-used organic fertilizers, such as manure or compost.

Blue-Green Africa empowers smallholder African farmers growing irrigated high-value crops to produce BGA Bio-fertilizer through provision of supplies and services, consequently increasing crop yields and farmer incomes. Our focus market segment is smallholder (<10 acres) farmers growing irrigated vegetables or other high-value crops in Africa, beginning in Ethiopia. BGA Bio-fertilizer is cheaper than urea and more available than compost, the most common alternatives in Ethiopia. Blue-Green Africa focuses on the production, harvesting, and utilization of BGA Bio-fertilizer in liquid form for fertigation of irrigated crops. In addition, we provide business training and certification of BGA Bio-fertilizer for sale, opening up an additional income stream for our producers through direct sale of fertilizer.
