Real Estate and Government:
Regulatory Impacts vs. Future Opportunities

December 8, 2011 – 8:00-9:30 a.m. – CSU Lory Student Center North Ballroom Anyone in real estate knows that federal, state, and local regulations impact their business and daily lives.  We know about licensing to zoning laws.  Do you know, however, how public real estate management and trends impact your business strategies or future opportunities?

In the state of Colorado, there is approximately $151 million in residential and $14.253 billion in non-residential properties owned by the federal, state, counties, and political subdivisions as of 2010.  As public agencies’ budgets change over the next decade, what will happen to their real estate portfolios?  Will parts flood the market depressing values?  Will new opportunities arise for public-private partnerships or redevelopment?  How will such activities impact local and regional economic development growth trends?

Above the Crowd!

Co-founders of RE/MAX, Dave and Gail Liniger

December 8, 2011 – 10:00-11:30 a.m. – CSU Lory Student Center Main Ballrooms

While the #1 producing real estate franchise in the world is thriving and a new location is opened every day from Africa to New Zealand, the RE/MAX philosophy of “Striving to help you live your dreams” goes for all agents, brokers, clients and the lives touched by their ambitious journey.

Dave Liniger became interested in real estate after successfully buying and selling properties to supplement his income while stationed in Phoenix, Arizona, with the U.S. Air Force. After working for both a 100 percent commission company and a traditional brokerage, he co-founded RE/MAX with Gail Liniger in Denver, Colorado, in 1973.

Dave and Gail have received many awards throughout their careers both for public service and business.  Recently in 2010, Dave was included in Bloomberg BusinessWeek’s profiles of the “50 Most Powerful People in Real Estate.”

The name "RE/MAX" was coined from the words "real estate" and "maximums." In exchange for sharing in office overhead and paying a management fee, RE/MAX Associates receive high compensation and business-building benefits and services.

Dave Liniger is nationally recognized as an expert in time management, sales training, recruiting and motivation. He has been featured in Entrepreneur, Forbes, Fortune, Inc., Success and other leading publications and media outlets across the globe.

Dave and Gail co-founded the Denver-area conservation center, The Wildlife Experience, a unique facility dedicated to fostering appreciation and understanding of wildlife, its conservation, and the many forms of wildlife art. The 14-acre, 111,000-square-foot venue, just south of Denver, features exceptional cultural exhibits and interactive educational components for all ages. It also hosts many social, civic and business gatherings.  Dave and Gail Liniger, also own the acclaimed Sanctuary Golf Course near Sedalia, Colorado. Devoted primarily to charity golf tournaments, the private course has raised more than $50 million for hundreds of organizations since opening in 1997.

On a more personal level, Gail has made an extraordinary recovery from the near-fatal crash of a small private airplane in 1983 and has served to inspire and motivate people both inside and outside of the RE/MAX organization.
