Department and College
The Department of Accounting is a very collegial and supportive group that currently has ten tenure-track faculty members, and serves approximately 2,000 undergraduate students and 500 MBA students. The MBA is offered at the Fort Collins main campus, as well as in Denver as an executive program, and via Colorado State University’s accredited distance learning program. Colorado State University is a Carnegie Research Extensive Institution with a land grant mission serving approximately 25,000 graduate and undergraduate students. Community
Fort Collins is a beautiful city of 130,000 located 60 miles north of Denver. Fort Collins offers easy access to many forms of outdoor recreation and maintains an excellent public school system. Position
The College of Business at Colorado State University invites applications to fill a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Accounting. While rank of Assistant Professor is preferred, exceptional candidates at other ranks will be considered. The position starts in August 2008.

Job Qualifications
Required – Ph.D. or D.B.A. degree in Accounting is required, although ABDs who will complete their degree by the position’s start date will also be considered. All applicants must have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship. Quality scholarship commensurate with experience, as evidenced by a portfolio of research activities including publications or potential to publish in top accounting or related journals, is required. Evidence of teaching effectiveness commensurate with experience is required.

Preferred – Preference will be given to candidates with (a) teaching and research interests in financial accounting, (b) a secondary interest in tax accounting and (c) the ability to advance the Department’s commitment to diversity as demonstrated by research, teaching and/or outreach activities. Professional certification is desirable. Evidence of teaching effectiveness commensurate with experience is also preferred.

Salary
Salary will be competitive, based upon credentials and experience.
