Allow adequate time for both undergraduate and graduate students to arrive and any associated traffic delays. Once inside the Intramural Gym, pick up your name card, and join the other graduates in your program of study. All graduates will be individually recognized as they cross the stage. Students needing wheel chair seating or sign language interpretation should contact Pam Johannsen at 970.491.1499 for more information.

CAP and GOWN:

Undergraduates: Cash is required! Advance reservations are NOT needed to rent your cap and gown, but you must pick up your regalia during the following times:

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, May 8, 9, & 10 – 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. – Lory Student Center, Room 228
Additionally, regalia may be picked up one hour prior to the ceremony in the Intramural Gym.
Bachelor Cap, Gown, and Tassel (black, green or gold) - $20.25
You may keep the cap and tassel.


Graduate students: Check with their advisors on regalia pick up and payment.

Masters Gown, Cap, Tassel, and Hood - $40.50
You may keep the cap and tassel.


Tassels are worn on the left side; your mortarboard cap should be worn level and not decorated. Honor society cords may be worn. Return your gown to the Intramural Gym immediately after the ceremony. INCLEMENT WEATHER: In the event of inclement weather, please call 970.491.SNOW (7669) for updates on the university’s operating status and news of any closures or cancellations.

ANNOUNCEMENT AND CLASS RING SALES: Representatives from CB Grad Announcements (announcements) and Josten’s (class rings) will be present on February 14, 15, and 16 (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday), 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. in the Lory Student Center Flea Market area (outside the University Bookstore) to take advanced, customized orders. After February 16, announcement orders may be placed at www.cbgrad.com or by calling 800-433-0296. Customized orders are returned within seven days of being ordered. The Grad Fair itself, sponsored by the Bookstore, will be one day only – Wednesday, February 15.

Generic announcements (non-personalized announcements) may be purchased at the University Bookstore any time.

If you are creating your own invitations and want to include information on your degree, please follow these guidelines:

Undergraduate Students: The degree awarded is the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Concentration in _________________.

Graduate Students: Degrees awarded will be the MBA, Executive MBA, Global, Social and Sustainable Enterprise MBA, MMP, MAcc, MSBA-CIS, and the MSBA-FRM.

GUESTS: Tickets are not needed for family and guests, and the number of invitees is not limited. However, seating is on a first come, first served basis, and we anticipate many atendees.

Wheelchair seating is available. Those with limited mobility should sit in the first two rows of the concourse level. Ushers will be available to provide assistance. Sign language interpreters will be present at the ceremony; those needing sign interpretation should sit on the south concourse in Section P. Please call 970.491.1499 with any questions.

PARKING: Parking regulations will be enforced on the main campus and in the Moby Arena Lot until 4:00 P.M. on Friday, May 11. Visitors can park in the “Z/commuter” zoned portion of the lot west of Moby Arena as well as any other “Z” lots. No parking is permitted in the 20-minute Loading Zones (except for loading and unloading), red/fire zones, and No Parking/Undesignated Areas. All vehicles must park in a clearly-marked stall. There is sufficient time between ceremonies to minimize parking congestion, and support staff will be present to direct traffic as necessary. Additional parking information can be obtained from CSU Parking Services at 970.491.7041.

PHOTOGRAPHS: Photos will be taken as you receive your diploma. Grad Trak www.gradtrak.com will email proofs following the ceremony IF a permanent email address is included on your name card. Grad Trak can be reached at 1.800.628.4509.

FOLLOWING THE CEREMONY: Because another ceremony quickly follows, guests will not be allowed on the floor of Moby Arena after the ceremony.

DIPLOMA COVERS: The actual diploma will be mailed to graduates eight weeks after Commencement. For those unable to attend the ceremony, diploma covers will be available in 160 Rockwell or by calling 970.491.1499. The shipping/handling cost to mail diploma covers is $4.95 for U.S. mailings.

DECORUM: Please remember this is a very public event, reflecting upon you as an individual and upon Colorado State University. Alcoholic beverages and inappropriate substances or objects are not allowed in Moby Arena; if brought into the building, they will be confiscated. This ceremony is the capstone of the academic experience for you, other students, and family and friends. Your recognition of the rights of others to enjoy the ceremony free from disruptive or otherwise inappropriate behavior is appreciated. You may be requested to open robes, purses, etc. for inspection as you enter in accordance with commencement policies.
