The
Association for Information Systems (AIS) founded in
1994, is a professional organization whose purpose is to
serve as the premier global organization for academics
specializing in Information Systems.
The AIS mission is stated as:
To advance knowledge in the use of information
technology to improve organizational performance and
individual quality of work
The Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS)
is the annual AIS research conference held in support of
that mission.
AMCIS attracts up to a thousand or more attendees
principally from North America
but increasingly from other regions of the world as
well. A
Doctoral Consortium is held in conjunction with AMCIS.
Doctoral students are selected from nominations received
from universities in the
Americas.
AMCIS also holds an MIS Camp designed to provide career
advice for new MIS faculty.
Conference Registration
The theme for AMCIS 2007 is
Reaching New Heights.
Consistent with this theme, there will be a number of engaging
panels, tutorials, workshops, and presentations at the
conference that focus on the future of the discipline.
New for AMCIS 2007 include a special vendor track, a
CIO panel, and a journal track. There will be several presentations by
luminaries in academia and industry; and tutorials and workshops on
leading edge IT/IS issues (Prices below include 2
lunches, the special event on Saturday evening, and all
the food/beverage breaks during the conference).
