The Business Diversity and Leadership Alliance (BDLA) is the student constituent of the Undergraduate Program, of the College of Business. Our mission is to assist in the implementation of recruiting and retention initiatives as they relate to diversity appreciation and education. As volunteers, BDLA members provide assistance, support, and a sense of community to the Undergraduate Program and serve as diversity-oriented leaders in the College of Business. The activities of BDLA primarily involve programs targeted to prospective students and currently enrolled students. The objective of BDLA is to attract and retain high-caliber and diverse students in the College of Business and to create a sense of community at Rockwell Hall, the home of the College of Business.
 
  • Support the College’s diversity efforts through programming and education

  • Gain leadership experience and group facilitation skills

  • Develop positive working relationships with faculty, staff, and corporate representatives

  • Provide opportunities to further enhance student leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Provide real-world experience for career development and enhancement of textbook theories

  • Establish its members as leaders, role models, credible resources, and mentors for other students

  • Develop dynamic, influential leaders for corporate America through education, experience, leadership, multicultural training, and community service

  • Create an atmosphere where diverse students can connect, share and learn from other member’s experiences
