The purpose of the scholarship is to improve the
quality of education in commercial real estate finance by providing
annual scholarships for students in Business (Finance and Real Estate
concentration). The scholarship was established in 2000 by E. Michael
Rosser, a 1964 Colorado State graduate in Social Science, who is the son
of the late Edwin M. Rosser, MAI. Edwin M. Rosser, MAI, for whom the
scholarship is named, was a charter member of the Denver Mortgage
Bankers Association and Chief Executive Officer of Garrett-Bromfield
Mortgage Company, a real estate and mortgage banking firm. The
designation of MAI represents Rosser’s membership in the Real Estate
Appraisal Institute.
Edwin M. Rosser, Sr. was an active member of the Colorado Chapter of the
Real Estate Appraisal Institute and on the board of the National
Governors Appraisal Institute. One of his largest appraisal projects was
the Ute Indian Land Settlement in Southern Colorado
The distributable income of the Fund, as described above, shall be used
for the following purpose(s):
A. The purpose of the Fund is to provide
annual scholarships for students in Business (Finance and Real
Estate concentration
B. Recipient(s) must meet the following criteria |
1. be a fulltime student with a GPA of 2.0 or
higher; 2. be junior or senior enrolled in the College of Business; 3. have declared the real estate concentration from the Department of
Finance and Real Estate as the desired degree program; 4. have taken the (currently titled) Real Estate Principles class; and 5. provide evidence of strong leadership skills and community service
commitments.
C. Recipients will be chosen annually by the
College of Business Scholarship Committee, represented by faculty from
all the academic departments.
If awarded to
a junior, the scholarship may be renewed for the senior year if criteria
are met.
