Scholarship and discovery play a vital role in
academic life, enhancing the quality of education for our future
business leaders and contributing to the body of knowledge available to
professionals in the field. College of Business faculty strive to
increase the quality and quantity of their research and maintain a focus
on problems relevant to the practice of management.
The impact of an institution’s research is measured
by the reputation of journals that publish the studies and the sources
of sponsorship. By these metrics, Colorado State’s business faculty
continue to excel, competing with the best for publication space within
their disciplines’ widely respected journals and securing substantial
research project funding from highly reputable organizations.
Our reputation for scholarship also is demonstrated
by the popular press turning to us for expert opinions. In its March 20,
2006 issue, Business Week Online referenced product innovation
research by Stan Slater and colleagues. And research by Derek Johnston
was used in a story about stock options in the May 2, 2006 Wall
Street Journal.
In this bulletin, you can read a sampling of
research by these and other scholars in the College of Business. I hope
you find the topics interesting and will share this publication with
your colleagues.
