Cheryl L. Hoffman is the founder and Chief Executive
Officer of Brownfields Capital and has over twenty years of real estate
and finance experience. She developed and patented an investment product
for financing the development and redevelopment of Brownfields and
founded Brownfields Capital in April 2001.
Ms. Hoffman attended Colorado State University where she received her
Bachelor of Science in Business, Real Estate and Finance and was awarded
a second undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of
Colorado. Ms. Hoffman is also licensed as a Real Estate Broker in the
State of Colorado.
Ms. Hoffman began her career in 1982 as a Senior Associate for the
accounting firm of Ernst & Whinney and became a Certified Public
Accountant in 1984. She managed financial joint ventures with developer
partners in large-scale land development projects throughout California
for the Home Capital Development Group (a subsidiary of Home Fed) from
1984 -1986. In 1986 Ms. Hoffman moved back to Colorado and became Vice
President of Finance for a Denver homebuilder.
From 1987-1988 Ms. Hoffman served as Asset Manager in Frederick Ross
Special Projects Group. There she developed turnaround strategies for
portfolios of troubled equity real estate and receiverships. In 1989,
Ms. Hoffman became Director of Pension Accounts for Equitable Real
Estate Investment Management. In this position she managed all portfolio
issues for four pension fund clients with a combined portfolio value of
$250 million. She left Equitable and founded Palladium Incorporated in
December of 1993. Ms. Hoffman has personally assisted in raising debt
and equity for over $500 million of real estate transactions since
founding Palladium and she developed the patent for Brownfields Capital
while continuing Palladium’s business through March of 2001. |
