Gregory J. Osberg joined Newsweek in the new post of
Executive Vice President/Worldwide Publisher in October 2000. He
is responsible for advertising sales, marketing, corporate
communications, and brand development for Newsweek’s four worldwide
editions (U.S., Atlantic, Pacific, and LatAm). He also manages the
online business operations of Newsweek.com on MSNBC. Under his
leadership, Newsweek made Advertising Age’s annual list of top 10
magazines in 2002. The trade magazine praised Newsweek’s ad page gains
and its editorial excellence. He has also accelerated the development of
fully integrated content and marketing programs with Newsweek’s
strategic media partners including NBC, MSNBC, CNBC, A&E, History
Channel, Discovery Channel, and MSN.
Mr. Osberg previously worked for Newsweek from 1990 to 1997 as Vice
President/Associate Publisher. He left Newsweek in October 1997 to
become President of Sales and Marketing for CNET. There, he directed
product development, advertising sales, business development and
marketing for both CNET: The
Computer Network and CNET’s online service, Snap! Online.
Mr. Osberg left CNET in 1999 to become president of Kaplan Professional
and shortly thereafter was named the founding president of BrassRing.com,
an Internet recruitment services company that is owned by Kaplan Inc., a
subsidiary of The Washington Post Company, The Tribune Co., Gannett and
Accel Partners.
Mr. Osberg’s previous publishing experience includes U.S. News & World
Report, where he served as Vice President of Advertising Sales for eight
years. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Internet
Advertising Bureau and on the marketing committee of the Magazine
Publishers of America.
He currently serves on the Global Leadership Council for the College of
Business at Colorado State University. |
