Colorado State is located in
Fort Collins, a community of
105,000 located 65 miles north of Denver. Fort Collins is nestled
against the foothills of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. The
city is a business and retail center for the Northern Front Range
region, an area that encompasses Loveland and Greeley, and Cheyenne,
Wyoming. Skiing, hiking, backpacking, and water sports areas are all
adjacent to Fort Collins. The campus is located on the border of the
Roosevelt National Forest and just 45 miles from Rocky Mountain National
Park. Within Fort Collins there are more than 20 miles of scenic walking
/ biking trails. The climate is characterized by pleasant seasonal
temperatures year round, with over 300 days of sunshine per year.
Fort Collins is also the center for a wide range of
high-tech and production firms, including
Hewlett-Packard, Kodak,
NCR,
Anheuser-Busch,
Teledyne Water Pik, and
Woodward-Governor.
Colorado State University is
