Director of Undergraduate Programs

Mike is responsible for Undergraduate Program services including budget, staffing, academic advising, recruiting, retention and diversity efforts. Mike is responsible for the implementation and enforcement of academic policies and procedures for the College of Business and the University. He sits on the University’s Admissions Advisory Committee, Council of Associate and Assistant Deans, Sexual Harassment Committee, Enrollment Management Committee, and the College of Business Undergraduate Curriculum Committee, and the Scholarship Committee. He works closely with faculty and staff on academic issues. He clears seniors for graduation and assists students as they navigate their way through the University and the College of Business academic system.

Katya Stewart-SweeneyKatya Stewart-Sweeney
Undergraduate Academic Advisor

Katya joined the Undergraduate Programs Office staff in December, 2003.  In addition to advising undergraduate students with 0-89 credits with the last names of A-G she provides support to the Business Diversity & Leadership Alliance, with student coordinator Lauren Cheng.  Katya holds a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Counseling. She has nine years experience as a student affairs professional with Naropa University, where she focused on student life and student advocacy and helped to create a student affairs program. Katya has also worked at cultural and educational non-profits, and agencies in Denver and Boulder, as a counselor and art therapist. Her interests include art, t’ai chi, Western and Eastern forms of meditation, and seeing live music (especially performed by family and friends).

Kathy Thorhill Kathy Thornhill
Advising Services Coordinator/Academic Advisor

Kathy advises undergraduate students with 0-89 credits with the last names of R-Z and students in the honors program.  She is responsible for advising students on academic issues; making sure students are aware of all policies and deadlines and acts as liaison between the university and the students. Kathy sits on the University’s Administrative Professional Council, and is the faculty Advisor for Alpha Kappa Psi. She has worked in Student Services for 14 years and has a Master’s degree in Student Development in Higher Education. She is currently earning her PhD in Educational Leadership. She is a member of several professional associations and has presented at national and regional conferences.

Sharon WilsonSharon Wilson
Administrative Assistant

Sharon provides support for the undergraduate program’s advisors, and is the initial contact for students, prospective students and their parents. Her duties include undergraduate Admissions processing, maintaining student files, the scheduling of appointments with advisors, and distributing information about the program.

Sharon is a native of Fort Collins, and spends many of her evening and weekend hours in rehearsal and performing in local Dance and Theatre productions.

Felicia ZamoraFelicia Zamora
Undergraduate Academic Advisor

Felicia joined the Undergraduate Programs Office staff in March, 2005. She advises undergraduate students with 0-89 credits with the last names of H-Q. Another main responsibility is coordinating the College of Business Mentoring Program. The Mentoring Program provides first year support for new ethnically diverse and first generation freshman by pairing them with a COB faculty, staff, or upperclassman. Felicia received her B.A. in Communication Studies with a minor in Creative Writing from Iowa State University. She has over three and a half years of experience in higher education involving program coordinating, multicultural recruitment, new student orientation, and counseling. Other experiences include working in non-profit probationary services, presenting on the topic of ‘Conflict Management’ and ‘Good Communication Skills’, serving as the Human Relations Chair for the Iowa Association of College Admissions Counseling, and having multiple small works published. Her interests include hiking, writing, seeing live music, refurbishing old furniture, and watching cheesy horror movies.
