Small Business Development Center

 

Mary Fischer is the Director of the Ft. Collins/Larimer County SBDC (Small Business Development Center), which offers information, assistance and support to small businesses through ongoing training and one-on-one counseling. Mary has been the Director of the Larimer County SBDC since July, 1998.  Her background prior to the SBDC includes over 15 years experience as a small business owner/entrepreneur.  She has also held management positions in several large high tech companies, including Apple Computer and Control Data, and has over 10 years experience as a professional trainer within corporate environments.    For seven years, she was the co-owner of a well established Ft. Collins Restaurant, the Café Bluebird, which received 1997’s “Best Business in Ft. Collins” from the CSU Business Council.  She also owned and managed two other successful small businesses prior to becoming a restaurateur.  Mary has also served on various local professional and community committees and boards, including the Ft. Collins Economic Vitality and Sustainability Action Group, the Workforce Investment Board and the Poudre School Workforce Pathway Advisory Board.
