2007 Jun 10 Horsetooth Mt Trail Race 7.49 1:01:42 8:14 Fort Collins, CO 1st Masters, 4th overall, slightly different course (at start / finish line) than last several years, so course distance is not exactly what it used to be.
2007 May 6 Colorado ("Old Town") Marathon 26.2 3:03:38 7:01 Fort Collins, CO PR, I *finally* broke 3:10!  17th male, 5th masters, was awarded 2nd in 45-49 age group award (after non-duplication of awards).  All the training was worth it!
2006 Nov 5 New York City Marathon 26.2 3:11:28 7:18 New York City, NY PR, broke old PR by ~4:45, and took ~200 pictures along the course while doing so!  I must have enjoyed this race way too much!  I'd hoped to beat Lance Armstrong, but didn't pull that off as he ran just under 3:00:00...
2006 Sep 17 Crossroads Half Marathon 13.1 miles 1:25:18 6:31 Fort Collins, CO PR of ~6:12 minutes from 2 years ago, 25th overall, 20th male, won 3rd in age group award)

2006 Aug 21 Pikes Peak Marathon 26.21 miles 4:59:50 11:26 Manitou Springs, CO PR, Pikes Peak Marathon, my 7th running, 38/698 (94.6 %ile) overall, 32/528 (93.9 %ile) male, 7/83 (91.6 %ile) 45-49 age group (won 3rd in age group award because of non-duplication of top-10 overall and top-5 masters awards), 3:12:37 ascent, 1:47:13 descent, Eric (won 30-34 age group award), Jonathan (5th in 25-29 age group), Steve, and Jotham ran too, held back quite well up to Barr Camp, walked whole way from Barr to summit, had bad cramps in both legs in last 5 miles, had least stomach issues ever, ate 6 Clif Shots during race (1 just before start, and 4 on way up and 1 on way down), didn't carry any Gatorade, didn't stop at top for anything except to grab a cup of Gatorade and 1 piece of orange (Carol stayed at bottom this year), ate 1 (2 halves) English muffin with PB and A-Sauce 2 hours before start, and drank 36 oz Gatorade endurance between 1-2 hours before race
2006 Jul 16 Barr Trail Mountain Run 12 miles 1:59:47 9:59 Manitou Springs, CO PR, Barr Trail Mountain Race (BTMR), bottom half of Pikes Peak Marathon course, 1 / 33 45-49 age group ( 97 %ile), 35 / 250 males (86 %ile), 37 / 333 overall (89 %ile), Mike Smith was 1 in front of me, Jonathan Vigh, Eric Sigler, Jotham Matabi, ate 2 halves English muffin with peanut butter and applesauce @ 4:00am as we started driving down from Fort Collins (the race started at 7:00am), drank 48oz Gatorade (endurance) between 4-6am, carried 20-oz Gatorade on course and drank ~16oz of it along with eating 1 Clif Shot 20 min before start and 1 @ 4 miles (had planned to eat another @ 8 miles), intended to run no faster than 157 bpm HR (#### %) but ran 161-163 (#### %) most of the way (and felt pretty good at this pace) and some even up to 166 (#### %), this would definitely have been too fast for the bottom half of the Pikes Peak Marathon...!
2006 Jul 4 Fort Collins FireKracker 5k 3.1 miles (5k) 18:34 5:59 Fort Collins, CO PR, Fort Collins FireKracker 5K, had hoped to break last year's 19:24 PR, Steve Saleeby and Phil Klotzbach predicted I'd do 18:30, but I never anticipated that I'd actually get anywhere near it, it was a great run, and I think I might even be able to get close to 18:00 because I was able to sprint the last few hundred yards quite easily, 24/644 (96%ile) overall, 24/296 (92%ile) male, 3/42 (93%ile) 45-49 male, Logan Kanode (15:19, 1st overall), Steve Saleeby (17:25, 10th overall, 1st in 30-34 age group), and Mitch Reuss (25:17, 240 overall, 156 male, 18/29 35-39 age group) also ran

2006 Apr 17 Boston Marathon 26.2 miles 3:32:15 8:06 Boston, MA 16th marathon, Boston PR, 55 @ noon, 3rd Boston, 4th fastest marathon, fastest Boston, bib #6673, tried to run 148 (75%) HR but actually ran about 151 (80%) most of course
2006 Jan 8 Walt Disney World Marathon 26.2 miles 4:52:45 11:10 Orlando, FL 15th marathon, Worst marathon time to date, decided to try for 3:10 and ran with that pace group for first half, then my legs cramped and I had to walk the rest of the way… :( Hadn't run since Thanksgiving (bc of trip to Aconcagua). 2005 Jul 1 Firecracker 5K 3.1 miles (5k) 19:22 6:15 Fort Collins, CO PR, broke 2.5 year-old PR by 12 seconds! Didn't expect to do that on a warm morning after not having trained much for the past 2 months! The 2nd-place woman pulled me along to the PR for the final 1.1 miles.
