32/528 (93.9 %ile) male, 7/83 (91.6 %ile) 45-49 age group (won 3rd in

masters awards), 3:12:37 ascent, 1:47:13 descent, Eric (won 30-34 age
group award), Jonathan (5th in 25-29 age group), Steve, and Jotham ran
too, held back quite well up to Barr Camp, walked whole way from Barr to
summit, had bad cramps in both legs in last 5 miles, had least stomach
issues ever, ate 6 Clif Shots during race (1 just before start, and 4 on
way up and 1 on way down), didn't carry any Gatorade, didn't stop at top
for anything except to grab a cup of Gatorade and 1 piece of orange
(Carol stayed at bottom this year), ate 1 (2 halves) English muffin with
PB and A-Sauce 2 hours before start, and drank 36 oz Gatorade endurance
between 1-2 hours before race |

PR, Barr Trail Mountain Race (BTMR), bottom half of Pikes Peak Marathon
course, 1 / 33 45-49 age group ( 97 %ile), 35 / 250 males (86 %ile), 37
/ 333 overall (89 %ile), Mike Smith was 1 in front of me, Jonathan Vigh,
Eric Sigler, Jotham Matabi, ate 2 halves English muffin with peanut
butter and applesauce @ 4:00am as we started driving down from Fort
Collins (the race started at 7:00am), drank 48oz Gatorade (endurance)
between 4-6am, carried 20-oz Gatorade on course and drank ~16oz of it
along with eating 1 Clif Shot 20 min before start and 1 @ 4 miles (had
planned to eat another @ 8 miles), intended to run no faster than 157
bpm HR (#### %) but ran 161-163 (#### %) most of the way (and felt
pretty good at this pace) and some even up to 166 (#### %), this would
definitely have been too fast for the bottom half of the Pikes Peak
Marathon...! |

anticipated that I'd actually get anywhere near it, it was a great run,

able to sprint the last few hundred yards quite easily, 24/644 (96%ile)
