Tom Ingram |

Tom Ingram (Ph.D., Georgia State
University) served as Department Chair from 1995 - 2000 and is
a Professor of Marketing at Colorado State University. Before
commencing his academic career, Tom worked in sales, product
management, and sales management with Exxon and Mobil.
Dr. Ingram has received various teaching and research awards,
including being named the Marketing Educator of the Year by
Sales and Marketing Executives International (SMEI). In 1994,
he was honored as the first recipient of the Mu Kappa Tau
National Marketing Honor Society Recognition Award for
Outstanding Scholarly Contributions to the Sales Discipline.
He has served as the Editor of Journal of Personal Selling
and Sales Management, Chairman of the SMEI Accreditation
Institute, Vice-President of Development for the Academy of
Marketing Science, and Vice-President of Research and
Publication for the Southern Marketing Association. He
currently serves as the editor of the Journal of Marketing
Theory and Practice.
Dr. Ingram’s primary research is in personal selling and sales
management. His work has appeared in Journal of Marketing,
Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Personal
Selling and Sales Management, and Journal of the
Academy of Marketing Science, among others. He is the
co-author of five textbooks, including The Professional
Selling Skills Workbook (The Dryden Press), Sales
Management: Analysis and Decision-Making, 3rd ed. (The
Dryden Press), and Marketing: Principles and Perspectives,
2nd ed. (Richard D. Irwin).
Tom has provided consulting and training for a wide variety of
organizations, including E.I. DuPont, International Paper,
Procter & Gamble, and the National Collegiate Athletics
Association (NCAA). In his leisure time, Tom and his wife
Jacque enjoy skiing, golf, and any other pursuit in the great
outdoors of Colorado.
