At the Department of Finance and Real Estate, we are at the cutting edge of new ideas in sustainable enterprise. As we become more involved with economies around the world, we are also reshaping our ideas about business. We have new faculty members coming on board who are bringing with them exciting areas of research, such as micro-insurance.

We’re collaborating with international experts like Hernando de Soto, president of the Institute for Liberty and Democracy in Peru, and one of the world’s foremost experts in empowering the poor.

Even as we embrace the new, we continue to appreciate the foundations upon which we built our Department. Our faculty members dedicate 50 percent of their time to excellent teaching, 40 percent to innovative research, and 10 percent to service. They are free to pursue knowledge that enriches their field of expertise and their classroom.

We offer two concentrations in our Department, so you can customize your Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with either a concentration in real estate or finance. Along with the College of Business’ Certificate Program, you’re able to take a core business education and shape it to meet your academic and career goals.
