The deadline for graduate assistantship applications is April 1. Please submit your application and resume by that date. This date may be different from the graduate program application deadline, so an assistantship application should be submitted independently of all other applications. It is not necessary for your entire application to be completed; you may submit your application for an assistantship with the assistanship application form and your resume.
Eligibility
The College of Business has a limited number of assistantships available. The graduate assistantship award is based on your residency classification and includes full in-state tuition or half out-of-state tuition and a stipend for the fall and spring semester, but not the summer term. Students work 10 hours per week with a faculty or administrator in the College of Business for the fall and spring semester.
Graduate Assistantships are awarded on a semester basis. It is up to the faculty to evaluate student performance and determine renewal of student contracts at the end of the fall semester. Students must maintain a 3.0 grade point average to maintain their assistantship.
To Apply
Interested students must apply for an assistantship, by submitting a completed Graduate Assistantship Application Form, along with a current resume.
Award Notifications and Next Steps
Students will be notified by e-mail whether or not they are selected for an assistantship. All applicants should receive notification approximately one to two months after the assistantship application deadline. If a student receives and accepts an assistantship, a contract must be signed with the department in which he or she will be working. The department will contact the student with information on where and when to sign the contract.
Please note that students must be admitted into either the MAcc (Masters of Accountancy), MSBA-CIS, GSSE-MBA, MMP or Professional MBA Program in the College of Business prior to being awarded an assistantship.
