We welcome your application to the Master of Accountancy program in the College of Business at Colorado State University. Your admission to the Master of Accountancy program is subject to the approval of the Chair of the Department of Accounting, in consultation with the Director of Graduate Studies, as well as meeting admissions criteria.

Minimum criteria for admission into the Master of Accountancy are:

  • GMAT score of 550
  • Undergraduate cumulative grade point average (any field) of 3.0
  • Acceptable letters of reference
  • Undergraduate coursework amounting to 30 semester hours — primarily in accounting but including economics, statistics, and finance.

If you have not completed all of the undergraduate prerequisites, you can usually be admitted to the program take the remainder concurrently with graduate courses.

While we do encourage our students to meet the minimum criteria, failure to meet one may be offset by strengths in other areas, as determined by the Chair and Director. Waiver of the GMAT is at the discretion of the Director of Graduate Studies. A waiver normally requires either an earned graduate degree in another field, or six years of relevant work experience with strong letters of reference.

Once admitted, you must remain continuously registered until graduation (link to graduate programs, continuous registration page). For further information regarding the Master of Accountancy, contact Laura McGrath, (970) 491-5102 or e-mail laura.mcgrath@colostate.edu.
