Information for New Students
We welcome you to the Master of Accountancy program in the College of Business at Colorado State University. We want to make sure you have the support you need to succeed in achieving your graduate degree and offer numerous services in the College and in the Graduate School to ensure that happens. Whether you are a full-time student in the MAcc program, or pursuing your studies part time, we are here to answer your questions and make sure you have a quality academic experience.

  1. Important announcements are frequently made via email. You will be assigned a College of Business email account, and you should check it daily. If you wish, you can have messages forwarded from the CSU account to your personal account (such as Hotmail).

  2. New students should make an appointment with the faculty advisor, Dr. Samelson (samelson@lamar.colostate.edu), for program planning before registering. If you are currently living out of town, initial advising can be done by email, but you should also make an advising appointment once you arrive on campus.

  3. 1.Two important documents that impact your degree program are the GS6–Program of Study and the GS25–Intent to Graduate. The MAcc Program Advisor (MAccAdvisor@business.colostate.edu or 970 491-4612) will provide you with timely reminders and instructions for the completion of these important forms. A rule of thumb is that the GS6 must be completed after you complete 12 credits OR begin your third semester in the program whichever comes first.
