• Students must be a declared business major pursuing a marketing concentration.
• Students must obtain written permission by the Department of Marketing Internship Coordinator to register.
• The internship must be pre-approved by the Department of Marketing Internship Coordinator to receive credit.

Yes. MKT 487 counts as 1 marketing elective or 1 upper-level free-elective.

How many credit hours can I earn for enrolling in MKT 487?
Students earn 3 marketing elective credit hours or 3 upper-level free-elective credit hours for MKT 487 during the semester in which the student is enrolled and wants to receive credit. Interns must complete a minimum of 150 hours of supervised internship during the semester they are enrolled in this program. You can receive 3 hours of credit for MKT 487 only one time for one semester.

Are marketing internships paid positions?
Compensation is strictly up to the employer. Some positions offer credit only options. However, about half of the employers offer paid positions averaging $10.00 per hour or a stipend.

• Go to the Internship Listings Page. If you find one you are interested in, submit it to the Department of Marketing Internship Coordinator to see if it meets the Marketing Department's requirements for receiving course credit.
• Many students secure internships through personal contacts and networking. If you find such and opportunity, submit the internship opportunity to the Department of Marketing Internship Coordinator to see if the internship meets the Marketing Department's requirements for receiving course credit.
