Tom Ingram
Marketing involves the creation, communication, and delivery of products, services, and ideas that have value for customers and society at large. Approximately one-quarter to one-third of the civilian workforce is involved in marketing and closely-related functions. Marketing is one of the largest undergraduate programs in the College of Business, with more than 400 students electing the marketing concentration. Key activities and jobs in marketing include marketing research, marketing strategy and planning, advertising and sales promotion, personal selling, event marketing, and electronic marketing. Marketing also includes product development and management, pricing, and the distribution of goods and services.

Consistent with the vision of the College of Business, the Marketing Department strives to be the best in the Rocky Mountain Region and one of the best in the nation. By working together with our students and the business community, our award-winning faculty provides a comprehensive curriculum at the undergraduate level and supports the graduate programs in the College with selected courses.

An important element of our curriculum is a focus on managerial realism which requires that student blend analytical, behavioral, and creative approaches to marketing in a highly competitive, ever-changing business environment. Students can gain additional business-world experience through the department’s internship program, participating in the Marketing Club, and by completing class projects with business and non-profit organizations. We invite you to visit with our faculty to learn more about the dynamic area of marketing.
