Marketing is one of the most dynamic, visible and exciting fields in business today, but it is about much more than clever ad campaigns, big budget commercials, or catchy sound bites. Marketing is at the heart of business and is one of the foundations of a healthy economy.

In the Department of Marketing, we also explore how marketing can be used to create positive social change from teen pregnancy prevention programs to Bike to Work promotions, and from global sustainable enterprise to promotion of Third-World products.

We strive to reach a balance of excellence in teaching, research and outreach. As an undergraduate student in the College of Business, you’ll pursue a Bachelor in Business Administration with the opportunity to explore the concentrations offered within that major. We encourage you to consider a concentration in marketing.

The marketing concentration, with 21 credits, offers a foundation in analytical thinking, creativity and decision-making related to effectively reaching customers. You’ll develop a practical, managerial orientation that prepares you for productive careers in highly competitive industries.

This is an extraordinary time to pursue a marketing career. Not only are we on the brink of life-changing economic forces, but careers in marketing are expected to increase between 21 and 35 percent in the next several years, according to Bureau of  Labor Statistics.

We invite you to come visit and talk with one of our faculty members about a career in marketing. You can reach us at:
