Wayne & Kathie Pritchard

Why did you choose CSU?
We both decided on CSU because it gave us the flexibility to pursue multiple personal goals (professional organizations, non-profit organizations, etc.), continue to work full time and get our MBA from a fully accredited university.  CSU Also offered a complete yet diversified curriculum that specialized in the core fundamentals (accounting, finance and marketing), while also providing us with additional training and tools by focusing on computer science, communication, legal issues and leadership classes. Finally, we felt that the mixture of class videos, live online chats, downloadable library information and easy contact with the professors would provide a positive and interactive environment without having a residency requirement.

How has the program affected you?
The program has been very beneficial for both of us.  First, it has expanded our ability to think out of the box and analyze various business situations.  Second, it has prepared us for professional growth in the future.  Finally, it has given us the knowledge to lead and challenge others as we all attempt to achieve greatness.

Have you taken classes at a distance before?
No, this was our first experience.  We would definitely consider it again.

What was the biggest challenge with the program?
The biggest challenge that we faced was changing and adapting our communication habits to meet the needs of the program.  For instance, after becoming acclimated with the programs requirements, we discovered that we had to structure our communications and contact so  that we could achieve maximum effect and maintain productivity in an efficient manner.  Fortunately, this challenge has held long term benefits for both of us in that it has taught us how to effectively communicate in the new technology driven market (e-mail, internet, etc.).  Thus, this challenge is a lesson in itself.

Any other comments?
The professors and staff at CSU were always very helpful, yet they challenged us with reasonable goals and assignments.
