Frequently Asked Questions

Is the MMP Program accredited?
The Master of Management Practice Program (MMP) is fully accredited by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business and ranks in the top 20 percent of business programs in the United States.

Will the MMP Program advance my career?
MMP classes provide you with a comprehensive business education. This makes the MMP especially adaptable to multiple professional career paths. An advanced degree may lead to a more desirable job or to accelerated advancement within a career.

Who will my classmates be?
The majority of our students are alumni from Colorado State University, with strong representation from students across the state of Colorado and Wyoming. We have a diverse student body comprised of individuals with varied undergraduate degrees, backgrounds, and experience.

What is the background of the professors?

The majority of the professors who teach in the MMP program are full-time faculty with a Ph.D. in their discipline. Many also continue to work in their industry as consultants. The MMP also brings in adjunct faculty members who are out in the workforce and can bring unique learning experiences to the program.

Does the program accept transfer credits?
Yes. Although some of the MMP courses are sequential, it is possible to transfer or substitute external courses. Please contact the MMP academic adviser for specific coursework.

Can I take MMP coursework during my undergraduate degree?
You may take some MMP courses while completing your undergraduate degree.  In order to do this you must obtain an override from the MMP adviser and file a “Request to Exclude Courses from the Bachelor’s Degree” form at the Registrar’s Office so the course does not count toward your undergraduate degree.

How long will it take to earn the MMP?
The MMP Program is designed to be completed within one year.  However, a flex schedule can take up to five years. During each enrollment period, you may choose to enroll the number of classes depending on the demands of their professional and personal schedules. Our MMP adviser is available to work with you to create a program timeline that fits their needs.

How many credits is each class?

The total number of credits needed to complete your MMP is 30. Within the MMP Program, classes are three credits each. However, if you choose an emphasis area outside of the College of Business you may encounter courses with fewer or more credits. What is important is that the total number of credits you need to complete your degree adds up to 30 (or more).

Is a thesis required?
No. There is no exit requirement for the MMP Program.

Can I choose ANY emphasis area?
You need to obtain approval of your emphasis area from your MMP adviser. You must also obtain approval from the department in which you have selected your area of emphasis. In some cases, this may be approval from the instructor of each course, the departmental advisor, or the dean of the respective college.
