The Master of Management Practice (MMP) is a 30-credit degree program in the College of Business designed for the non-business major.  It is a professional degree that focuses on the primary management skill sets and training that employers are asking to see in job candidates for today’s marketplace.

The unique design of our program allows you to complete your degree in one year, but students who wish to complete the program over a longer period of time have that option as well (up to five years). You’ll study the foundations of organizational management practices, but you’ll also be able to customize your curriculum to meet your academic and career goals by adding selected non-College of Business graduate courses to the core business curriculum. The College offers two emphasis areas, management and computer information systems, though you can work with your adviser to design your own emphasis based on your undergraduate degree, or other concentrations within the College.

One of the major draws of the Master of Management Practice in the College of Business is its diversity. We attract people from many different disciplines who learn from each other, and integrate their experiences as they move through their degree program together.

As a student in the Master of Management Practice program, you’re education will be enriched through off-site visits to local companies where you can see management practices in action. We also bring in presenters from different companies to give you a real-world viewpoint of what is happening in the business world today and the impact you can have on that world. Our adjunct faculty members work in the community and bring their experience and knowledge to campus, including case studies from their own businesses.

The skill sets you’ll develop through our Master of Management Practice include the ability to:

• Think critically and strategically
• Develop and communicate strategic actions
• Understand the role of information technology
• Analyze technical information, budgets and business processes
• Model ethical behavior and social justice
• Be a leader.

The College of Business at Colorado State University has a long tradition of supplying business education to students who desire to make a difference. With the Master of Management Practice, you’ll continue that tradition.
