Fort Collins -Colorado State University's College of Business is pleased to announce the appointment of Professors Susan Athey, Paul Mallette and John Hoxmeier as associate deans in the college.

This administrative change comes as the College of Business begins implementation of its strategic plan and as the college is named among the top 100 Undergraduate Business Programs by U.S. News & World Report.

Each associate dean will be responsible for a key element of the college program. Athey will oversee undergraduate programs while Mallette will be responsible for research and administration. Graduate programs will be directed by Hoxmeier.

Athey graduated with a bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech, MBA from Colorado State University and a doctorate degree in management information systems from the University of Arizona. She has received several awards for teaching and advising. Athey received a Fulbright Fellowship in 2001 and taught for three months at the University of Evora, Portugal. Her research interests are in information system ethics, information system education and pedagogies.

Mallette received his doctorate from the University of Nebraska in Strategic Management in 1988, and he joined Colorado State University as an assistant professor that year. His research interests are primarily in the area of corporate governance, exploring how governance structures affect various organizational and societal outcomes. Professionally, he is a recent past president of Western Decision Sciences Institute and currently is a vice president of the Decision Sciences Institute. Last year he served as interim chair of the Management Department.

Hoxmeier received a doctorate degree from the University of Colorado-Boulder where his research included collaborative and group support systems. His research includes database design and information quality. Prior to joining the Department of Computer Information Systems at Colorado State University in 1994, he held several executive positions within the technology sector. He is an alumnus of the University of Nebraska and Colorado State University.
