Colorado State University's College of Business
offers one of the best MBA programs in the nation and is one of the top
10 best administered, according to The Princeton Review, a New
York-based education services company.
Surveyed students agree: "The CSU School of Business is an innovator in
distance-learning techniques; it has worked the kinks out both
academically and operationally."
Colorado State's business college is among 290 colleges listed in the
2008 edition of Princeton Review's annual guide, which features two-page
profiles on the school's academics, student life, admissions and
career/placement programs. A complete list of the schools is posted on
The Princeton Review Web site at
www.PrincetonReview.com.
The book is now on sale.
"The College of Business continues to be a leader in MBA programming,
particularly in its highly successful distance-learning curriculum,"
said Peter Dorhout, vice provost for Graduate Affairs at Colorado State.
"Our faculty are known for preparing our students for success in the
work force using theory as well as practical applications and a global
perspective on business needs."
"Today's enterprise requires leaders who understand the importance of
personal and professional responsibility within corporate governance,"
said Ajay Menon, dean of the College of Business. "Our MBA degrees have
responded to this need with a well-rounded curriculum that is based on a
firm understanding of business processes from an entrepreneurial
viewpoint."
This fall, the college enrolled its first class for a new 18-month
Master of Science in Business Administration degree in Global Social and
Sustainable Enterprise that will teach students to use entrepreneurial,
sustainable approaches to address great global challenges of poverty,
environmental degradation and poor health.
The Princeton Review has posted the ranking lists and
information on how they are compiled at
www.PrincetonReview.com where the lists can be searched by school or
by category. The ranking lists are based on surveys of law and business
school students conducted during the 2006-07, 2005-06 and 2004-05
academic years. Most were completed online at The Princeton Review's
student survey site,
http://survey.review.com.
Students are asked about their school's academics, student body and
campus life and their career plans. No ranking list is based on The
Princeton Review's opinion of the schools, nor do the books have
one hierarchical ranking list of all schools profiled.
Colorado State has ranked among the top 10 in the "best administered"
category for the past three years, according to student surveys.
Students based their responses on such things as how smoothly the school
is run and the ease with which they can get into required and popular
courses. Said Robert Franek, vice president and publisher of
Princeton Review, "We compile our ranking lists in multiple
categories based on what students report to us about their schools to
help applicants decide which of these academically outstanding schools
is best for them."
The honor is one of many for Colorado State's College of Business. Other
recent accomplishments:
- In March, Business Week ranked Colorado State's College of
Business as one of the top undergraduate business programs in the
country.
- U.S. News and World Report magazine consistently ranks the
college among the best programs in the nation.
- Kiplinger magazine has named the MBA program as one of the
top "big name" programs in the country that offers the degree at a
distance.
