Burns Marketing Communications announced the winners of Spark – the creative
scholarship program. Designed to help college undergraduate and graduate students
ignite their marketing careers, Spark offered students from Colorado and Wyoming
real-world marketing experience. The students were tasked with developing
comprehensive marketing campaigns for the Discovery Science Center. Kerri Jones,
a senior marketing student, was the overall winner of the competition and a $3000
scholarship, with her ‘Discover for Yourself’ video and marketing plan. Her intent
was to help Discovery Science Center as they move towards a new future, in a new
facility. Her vision of the ‘Discover for Yourself’ campaign aims to increase
visitor base, and financial contributions to assist in meeting the goals of the
