252 new freshmen were advised during Preview this
summer by the very enthusiastic COB advising staff. Incoming
Business freshmen and their parents met in separate group sessions
in the morning, where they each got an introduction to advising. In
the afternoon the students engaged in creative chaos as they
registered for their first semester at Colorado State. It is a
mentally demanding day for students as they learned to navigate
curriculum and register using RAMWEB, although there are lots of
smiles at the end of the day when they have a copy of their
schedule! This year advising took place in Rockwell Hall, Room 38, a
perfect environment where they each had access to a computer and got
a nice introduction to their future home away from home, Rockwell
Hall!
In addition to working with the advisors and meeting other new COB
students, Karen Kinsey, senior business student and BDLA member who
will graduate in SM05, volunteered for the second summer in several
of the afternoon registration sessions. Students were very excited
to hear Karen's advice about business courses, and her tips on good
University Core Curriculum course selections. Karen offered great
practical tips for success and how to find classes, as well as just
fun things about living in the dorms and being at CSU and the COB. |
