How do I know if I qualify? [more]
Admission criteria include:
- An undergraduate degree with a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- A minimum of four years of full-time professional work experience
- Satisfactory GMAT/GRE scores
- A GMAT waiver may be granted if you have (1) a 3.0 GPA or better in undergraduate work (cumulative or in the last 60 credits) and (2) at least eight years of full-time professional work experience that shows a progression in responsibility; or (3) a GMAT waiver can also be granted if you have completed a graduate degree.
- International students are required to score a 565/227/86 on the TOEFL or a 6.5 on the IELTS.

Curriculum
Can I take more than four approved elective credits in the program? [more]
Yes, you can take more than four approved elective credits in the program; however, only four are required. A wide variety of elective options are available, including prep classes & tutorials, specialization coursework, international study trips, and on-campus professional development seminars. You can choose to complete one to four electives in a semester.
Can I transfer credits into the MBA Program or have a course substitution approved? [more]
Transfer credits are not accepted in the MBA programs. There are no course substitutions in the MBA program.
Do you offer specialized areas of study? [more]
Students may specialize in finance or computer information systems. In addition, through an alliance with the Graduate School-USDA (the major training organization for the federal government and the Department of Defense), the University offers an MBA with a Certificate in Federal Financial Management.
How many credits are required? [more]
The MBA program requires 40 credits: 36 credits of core course work and 4 elective credits. Core courses are offered one semester (the same semester) each year.
What is the curriculum format? [more]
The program formats are semester-based, with two eight-week terms in each semester. Summer semesters are one eight-week term. Scheduling is flexible, allowing students to complete the program in as few as 21 months or as many as five years. Advisors work with students to develop schedules that fit their needs. Exams are downloaded from the program’s intranet. When you have completed the exam, simply upload it back to the system. You are never required to find a testing center or schedule a test proctor. For group projects, we provide collaborative videoconferencing software to allow you to easily work with other students; we assign students to class sections by time zone as much as possible to make communicating more convenient.

In the 2011-2012 academic year, proposed tuition is $795 per credit hour for all core curriculum credits and either $600 or $795 per credit for electives, depending on the classes you choose. There is no residency requirement. At current rates, tuition for the entire program ranges from $31,020 to $31,800, and these rates will be locked in until at least May 2013. Textbooks & other course materials and a $20 per semester technology fee are the only other expenses.
Preparation
When will I know what books and materials I will need for my classes? [more]
Information about required textbooks and other course materials will be posted in the program intranet and in the course syllabus approximately six weeks before classes begin.
What Prep classes/tutorials are available? Are they required? [more]
We offer five prep courses & tutorials. These courses are designed for skill building in areas where you may have an academic weakness. They are an optional way to fulfill elective credits but are recommended before specific classes for preparation. Prep courses/tutorials include:
- Accounting
- Excel
- Finance
- Quantitative Methods & Statistics
- Mathematics for Managers: algebra, calculus, some finance, and quantitative methods covered.
Program
How much study time should I expect to spend for my courses? [more]
On average, students spend seven hours per week for each class they are taking. Prep classes/tutorials generally take 20 to 25 hours to complete.
What is the student profile? [more]
Our MBA students come from diverse backgrounds and locations, representing all 50 states and more than 46 countries. Their average age is 34, and they average 12 years of professional experience. Students’ average undergraduate GPA is 3.2, and their average GMAT score is 580.
Are the Online Professional MBA Program and the Professional MBA Program similar? [more]
The two programs are identical in academic content and rigor. Courses use the same syllabi and materials, and students in both programs view the same lectures. Students must meet the same high academic standards. The difference is the method of delivery of course material. Completion of either program earns you a Master of Business Administration degree from Colorado State University.
