Online Course Facilitators
Learning is a collaborative, engaging process, and the Online Course Facilitators play a key role in that exchange. The OCFs, as they’re known, work daily to extend the expertise students access in the classroom to online students. Each of the OCFs working with students are masters-prepared professionals themselves – many of them working full-time in various business roles but keeping their careers connected to the latest research and scholarship in business.
The Important Role of an OCF
First and foremost, Online Course Facilitators are here for you.
- They monitor each of the Online Professional MBA classes.
- They serve as a ready and informed source for back-up and expanded information shared by faculty during lecture.
- They grade assignments, lead group discussions, and give specific feedback in coordination with the faculty.
Students in the on-campus classroom often appreciate “debriefing” topics with fellow students – hearing others’ perceptions of the lecture and discussing key points covered. The OCFs can make that happen in the online environment as well through discussion boards, chat, and Web conferencing.
OCFs personally handle the questions, comments, and concerns generated from students in distance MBA programs regarding the content of courses, helping to build and maintain key relationships between you and the university, your instructors, and your fellow students.
Highly Qualified Professionals
All OCFs have completed their master's degrees, and some have a Ph.D. They know firsthand what your graduate experience is like and how to help make it as meaningful as possible. Most of the Online Course Facilitators are working professionals, including licensed CPAs, supply chain experts, and experts in business law, ethics, and human resources.
