Scholarships

 
 

To apply for scholarships through the College of Business, complete the CSU Scholarship Application (CSUSA).

The CSUSA will be available online at RAMweb beginning December 1. The deadline to apply for scholarships is March 1 at 11 p.m. (MST). Go to RAMweb at ramweb.colostate.edu and login using your eID. Then select the CSU Scholarship Application link. Be sure to complete your college's section of the CSUSA.

To be considered for need-based scholarships through the CSUSA, your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be submitted no later than March 1.

Please contact Pam Johannsen by email at Pam.Johannsen@colostate.edu or phone at (970)491-1499 with any scholarship-related questions.  If you are selected to receive a scholarship or award, you will be notified before the end of Spring semester. You must formally accept the scholarship before it will be applied to your student account. Recipients are required to write a letter of thanks to the scholarship donor.

Scholarship Opportunities:

By completing the CSU Scholarship application (CSUSA) including the specific section for the College of Business and submitting unofficial transcripts (if you will be a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student), you will be considered for any and all College of Business scholarships for which you are eligible.  Incoming freshmen are not required to submit a transcript.  Unofficial transcripts should be mailed to:  College of Business Scholarship Committee, 125 Rockwell Hall, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO 80523.
 
Accenture
A $100 award is made to one student in each of the six concentrations in the College of Business.
 
Baird Kurtz and Dobson Accounting Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to accounting majors who are full-time students with active CSU involvement. Three $750 scholarships were awarded last year.
 
Center for Investment Finance and Real Estate
This award is made to students in Finance and Real Estate with an interest in real estate.   
 
Children of COB Graduates Scholarship
This scholarship is given to full-time Business students with a 2.5 GPA who demonstrate community activity and whose parents/guardians are College of Business graduates.  Last year, four $1,000 scholarships were awarded.
 
Chris Collins Memorial Scholarship
This $1,000 award is given to a full-time marketing student with evidence of student leadership activity.
 
Walter B. Cooper Memorial Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship was established in memory of Walter Cooper, a successful Fort Collins businessman from 1929 until his death in 1961.  The scholarship is awarded to students with verbal communication proficiency and a promise of success in business careers.  One scholarship is awarded. 
 
College of Business Endowed Scholarship
These awards are given to full-time students who demonstrate leadership activity and volunteer involvement. Five $1,000 scholarships are awarded. 
 
College of Business International Scholarship
This award is made to a full-time sophomore, junior or senior student enrolled in the College of Business who is a U. S. citizen and who meets four of the following criteria:  interest in international business issues, registered in international academic courses, participates in College of Business or University international activities, maintains a 3.0 GPA and demonstrates financial need.  Separate application required.  Two $1,300 awards were made last year.
 
Rex Dale Memorial Scholarship
This $1,200 scholarship is in memory of Rexford W. Dale, who received an undergraduate and a graduate degree from the College in 1974 and 1975. The award is to a Fort Collins area resident with achievement in extracurricular activities and a promise of success. 
 
Bob Dillon Enterprise Software Scholarship
This $1,300 scholarship is awarded to full-time College of Business freshman, sophomore, junior or senior, minimum GPA of 2.8, and demonstrated commitment to community.  Applicants must submit two-page essay expressing their understanding of enterprise software, specifically financial and accounting systems, supply chain manufacturing and/or customer relationship management systems.  Essays should articulate career aspirations in product management, marketing or sales. 
 
Deloitte and Touche Scholarship
Two $750 awards go to full-time accounting students who demonstrate leadership and volunteerism. 
 
Departmental Scholarships

Accounting
Awards are given to full-time accounting students who demonstrate evidence of leadership activity and volunteer involvement.  Three $500 awards were made last year. 
 
Computer Information Systems
Awards are made to full-time students with evidence of school leadership activities.  Four $1,100 awards were made last year.
 
Finance and Real Estate
One $600 scholarship is awarded to full-time new or returning finance and real estate students with evidence of CSU leadership activity. 
 
Management
Awards are made to full-time junior or senior management students with a 3.2 or higher GPA and evidence of CSU leadership activity.  One $1,575 award was made last year.
 
Marketing
One $500 award is given to a full-time student based on financial need and evidence of school leadership activity.

Ehrhardt, Keefe, Steiner, and Hottman, P.C. Scholarship
Two $1,500 are made to accounting majors who have completed at least 60 credit hours, have maintained a 3.0 gpa, and have demonstrated merit and commitment to the accounting profession.
 
Encana Scholarship
Two $1,000 awards are made to junior or senior accounting majors who have maintained a 3.5 gpa and have demonstrated interest in and commitment to the accounting profession.
 
Jerome C. Eppler Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time incoming senior who has demonstrated academic and leadership qualities. Two $5,000 awards may be made. Interested applicants must complete the CSU Scholarship Application.
 
Jim and Cathy Epstein Scholarship
Recipients must be accepted into the Global Social and Sustainable Enterprise Master’s Degree program in the College of Business, maintain a 3.5 gpa, exhibit a history of social responsibility and have an entrepreneurial spirit.  Awards up to $8,600/year plus summer fieldwork support will be made.  Separate essay required.

Ernst and Young Accounting Scholarship
This $500 award is given to a full-time accounting student who demonstrates leadership activity and volunteer involvement.
 
Faculty Staff Scholarship
Awards are made to full-time students in the College of Business with a 3.0 gpa or higher.
 
FirstBank Scholars
FirstBank Holding Company has established the FirstBank Scholars award.  Two $3,500 awards go to College of Business majors who are full-time junior or senior in the College of Business; minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0; demonstrated involvement community, campus or civic activities; or employment experience in lieu of these activities.  The junior level recipient shall be eligible for renewal in the subsequent year by continuing to meet the scholarship criteria.  Recipients of the FirstBank Scholars award will be expect to meet with the FirstBank Board of Directors once per year. 
 
James X. Griffin Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Stephanie Griffin (2004 Management) as a tribute to her father.  A $1,500 award is made to a student studying Organizational Management.
 
The Group, Inc. Scholarship
The Group, Inc. assists Colorado State University in attracting the “best and brightest” students to the University, provides an opportunity for experience, and promotes good will in Northern Colorado. This scholarship is awarded to a Larimer County or Windsor High School graduate with goals that lead to a business career. One $4,232 award was made last year to an incoming freshman admitted to the College of Business.     
 
The Group, Inc. –Harvey G. Nesbitt Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship in memory of Harvey G. Nesbitt, a CSU graduate and a longtime local realtor with The Group, Inc. recognizes a business student with strong service and community involvement. One award of $4,716 was made last year.  Recipient must be a full-time sophomore, junior or senior Business major with at least a 3.25 GPA. 
 
James Abbott Hoeven Jr. and Sr. Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is in memory of James Hoeven Jr., who was a graduate student in the College, and James Hoeven, Sr., who was a professor in the College of Business.  The $4000 is awarded to a student who has a 3.3 GPA, leadership evidence, and extracurricular activities.
 
Gary and Leslie Howard Family Foundation Business Scholarship
The Howard Family Foundation Business Scholars Fund was established to recognize academically talented students who are interested in business careers.  Gary and Leslie Howard established this scholarship because of their belief in the value of education and their true commitment to invest in the long-term academic success of low-income students. Twelve awards ranging from $2,000 to $11,000 were made last year.    
 
KPMG Accounting Scholarship
Awards go to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in Accounting with a 3.0 gpa who has demonstrated leadership and volunteer involvement.
 
Lynda Liparulo Memorial Scholarship
One $600 scholarship is made to an undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior.

Myron Brown Ludlow Scholarship
This scholarship was created to assist academically-strong students in their business degrees.  Last year, one $6,000 scholarship was awarded to an individual who demonstrates strong academic achievement and has attended CSU one full academic year prior to receiving the scholarship.
 
J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Family Foundation
This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a student studying accounting, finance, or restaurant and resort management.
 
Micro Motion Scholarship
Awards are made to students interested in careers in technology.
 
Dr. Melanie Middlemist Accounting Scholarship
This award honors Dr. Melanie Middlemist, an emeritus faculty member in the Department of Accounting.  It is awarded to full-time undergraduate with an accounting concentration who is a member or pledge of Beta Alpha Psi in good standing.  Minimum of 3.0 GPA with exhibited leadership, service and involvement in the Campus, college and/or Accounting Department communities.  Three $500 awards were made last year.   
 
Molly Murray Accounting Scholarship
Eight $1,000 awards are given to fifth year accounting students who plan to sit for the CPA exam.  Full-time students with evidence of leadership and volunteerism are preferred.   
 
Rudy Narod Scholarship in Business
This scholarship is established to attract academically-strong students to CSU and is awarded to entering freshmen or sophomore transfers majoring in business with evidence of leadership. Two awards of $1,250 are made.
 
Don O. Nelson Accounting Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time fifth year accounting student with evidence of leadership and volunteerism and who plans to sit for the CPA exam.  One award of $1,500 is made. 
 
Dr. R. L. Ogden Memorial Scholarship
The purpose of this fund is to provide assistance to two graduate students in the College of Business.  Excellence in on-campus and off-campus leadership, with motivation, drive and a need to succeed are the criteria for this scholarship.  Each award is $1,400.
 
Partners for Excellence/ U. S. West Scholarship
This $550 scholarship was established to provide financial support for students interested in pursuing careers in business.

Dr. Gerri L. Peper Memorial Scholarship
This award is given in memory of Dr. Gerri Peper, a valued colleague whose project support on behalf of IBM and work with students left a tremendous legacy. The scholarship provided two $1,300 awards last year to Computer Information Systems majors who have financial need and are working part-time.  Recipients must be involved in external CIS leadership positions and activities and demonstrate a passion and initiative to be a leader in his/her career.
 
Perich Family Scholarship
Bob and Jeanette Perich are both graduates of the Business College of Colorado State University. They established this scholarship because of their strong belief in the need for a strong educational foundation for a productive and prosperous life. It is intended to help those individuals who are studying and working to improve their lives and the lives of their families. The recipient must be a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in the College of Business, demonstrate financial need, and maintain an overall 3.0 GPA. Primary considering will be given to a non-traditional student. The recipient(s) are eligible for renewal in subsequent years by continuing to meet the scholarship criteria.
Interested applicants must complete the CSU Scholarship Application.

F.E. (Pete) and Jonnie Peterson Scholarship
F.E. Peterson, a 1963 graduate, and his wife, Jonnie, established this scholarship to help deserving students in organizational management.  One $2,100 award was made last year.
 
Richard J. Pfeil Memorial Scholarship
The Economic Developers Council of Colorado established this fund in 1981 to honor Mr. Pfeil who was employed by United Banks of Colorado Holding Company and a former President of the Economic Developers Council of Colorado. The fund provides an annual $900 scholarship to full-time business students who have a 3.0 or higher GPA and whose concentration is either management or entrepreneurship. The students should demonstrate leadership and volunteer involvement and show promise for success in business.
 
PricewaterhouseCoopers Accounting Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to accounting majors with evidence of leadership. Three $750 awards are made.
 
Edwin M. Rosser, MAI Memorial Scholarship in Finance/Real Estate
This $1,000 scholarship was established in memory of Edwin M. Rosser by his son, E. Michael Rosser, a 1964 graduate. The MAI represents Mr. Rosser Sr.'s membership in the Real Estate Appraisal Institute. The purpose of this fund is to improve the quality of education in commercial real estate finance by providing annual scholarships for students in Business with a finance and real estate concentration. 
 
Sample and Bailey Accounting Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship was established through the generosity of the employees of Sample and Bailey Certified Public Accountants, P.C. to provide an annual scholarship for students with an accounting concentration.
 
Delano F. Scott Scholarship
This scholarship was founded by Mr. Scott, a 1902 alumnus of CSU, to assist undergraduate students. Two $2,400 scholarships will be awarded based on demonstrated academic ability.
 
Spencer/McCosh Accounting Scholarship
Two $500 scholarships are given to accounting majors with evidence of student leadership activity and volunteerism.   
Carolee G. Sprengle Scholarship
This scholarship is in memory of Carolee G. Sprengle who had three children graduate from the College of Business at Colorado State University. Preference is given to Routt County High School graduates as entering freshmen. The recipients will have strong academic performance and extracurricular activities. Each recipient receives $1,500; eight awards were made last year.  
 
Swift and Company
Swift & Company is the second-largest processor of fresh beef and pork products in the world.  The Company has established a $1,000 scholarship for students in the Colleges of Business and Agricultural Sciences to reward high performing students who meet the following criteria.  Full time junior or senior level student or graduate student majoring in MBA, Accounting, Finance, animal science, agricultural business, or agricultural economics; 3.5 GPA or higher in major course of study; demonstrated leadership skills and involvement in extra-curricular activities; interest in a career in the meat industry.  Students receiving Swift Foods Scholarships are eligible and encouraged to apply for a 12-week, paid internship with Swift & Company.  Swift Foods Scholarships are renewable, however, students must reapply. 
 
“Students First” Business Scholarship
This scholarship was formed from multiple donors to assist students' financial needs.  It is awarded to a new, transferring or continuing full time student who demonstrates leadership and volunteerism. Fourteen $1,000 awards were made last year.
 
Grant Thornton Accounting Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship recognizes an accounting major, with a 3.0 GPA or higher who displays student leadership and volunteer involvement.    

Trueblood Business Scholarship
This scholarship was established to recruit and retain top students who demonstrate academic merit and promise of success in business. Ten awards of $3,000 each were made last year.
 
Union Pacific Railroad
Union Pacific Corporation is one of America's leading transportation companies. Its principal operating company, Union Pacific Railroad, is the largest railroad in North America, covering 23 states across two-thirds of the United States.  Three $1,500 scholarships will be awarded to Business majors meeting the following criteria:  junior or senior standing; 3.2 gpa or higher; concentration in Management with interest in supply chain issues and the transportation industry.
 
Ruth J. and William A. Youder Scholarship
William and Ruth Youder, owners of a successful excavation business in Fort Collins, established this scholarship to assist bright and talented students in the achievement of their college degrees and careers. The $1000 is awarded to a full-time marketing student who has been a Colorado resident for at least 6 years with high academic achievement and extracurricular involvement.
