Josh is the Senior Vice President of Product and Innovation at Otter Products and an Adjunct Faculty Instructor for the College of Business at Colorado State University. As a graduate of CSU’s MBA program (2001) and now teaching at CSU in the MBA program, Josh has come full-circle and is extremely passionate about helping others reach their career goals.

Josh brings more than 25 years of corporate experience covering a variety of industries and positions including consumer and B2B product development, marketing, innovation management, engineering, design, and sales. He’s a respected servant leader experienced in motivating and leading remote, global, and cross-functional teams to meet and exceed business goals. He’s a creative problem solver with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and an undying passion for products and innovation.

Over the last five years, Josh has been at Otter Products leading the product strategy, new innovation efforts, and driving business diversification and revenue growth. He’s been instrumental in Otter’s diversification from its core cases business, spearheading the company’s expansion into screen protection, power accessories, wearables, kids’ tech, mobile gaming, and more. He led two successful collaboration partnerships: (1) An exclusive partnership with the world’s most innovative glass company, Corning, the makers of Gorilla Glass, and (2) an exclusive global partnership with PopSockets to create Otter+Pop phone cases with an integrated grip. Both partnerships have yielded significant and new revenue growth for Otter.

Josh is a sought-after mentor at Otter and in the broader Colorado business community, with a reputation for caring about the people in his charge as deeply as he cares about the innovation he spearheads. Leading well and empowering others to grow are core components of Josh’s method of operating.

Before his Otter adventure, Josh spent 17 years at HP where he led a number of “world’s first” product developments within HP’s profitable workstation business, all of which contributed to HP’s #1 market share position for more than 8 years.

Prior to graduating from CSU with his MBA and joining HP, Josh was a turbine controls engineer at Woodward Governor Company for 5 years.

Josh has a Master of Business Administration from Colorado State University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from University of Colorado – Boulder.
