Jenny Cavnar named first CSU Presidential Executive in Residence

Adding to a trailblazing career that has included serving as a sideline reporter, analyst and play-by-play broadcaster, College of Business alum Jenny Cavnar will serve as CSU’s first Presidential Executive in Residence.

Cavnar becomes the first female primary play-by-play announcer in Major League Baseball history this season as the voice of the Oakland Athletics. The achievement is another milestone in her 18-year career in MLB broadcasting, in which she has earned five Emmy Awards and became the first woman to win the National Sports Media Association (NMSA) Colorado Sportscaster of the Year award in 2021.

The Presidential Executive in Residence program advances excellence at CSU by bringing in renowned experts who have achieved extraordinary things in a variety of fields. This new program will engage top professionals in advisory roles for the university and provide direct connections for students, faculty and the community at-large.

Business for a Better World drives College of Business to Financial Times award

We’re thrilled to announce that the College of Business was selected as a winner of the Financial Times “Best Business School” award for responsible business education!

Through a rigorous evaluation process, the Financial Times recognized only five business schools from across the world as “best overall” for systematically integrating responsible business management through their research, curricula, operations and community engagement.

Among the five winning universities, CSU was the only one from North America. Additional winners included Finland’s Aalto University School of Business; France’s IÉSEG School of Management; England’s University of Oxford Saïd Business School; and VU Amsterdam School of Business and Economics. Judges — including corporate CEOs, journalists and academics specializing in the areas of business and sustainability — lauded the College of Business for its focus on the values-driven mission of Business for a Better World.
