The Music Business Minor helps students develop an understanding of valuable business basics such as ethics, management and finance while discovering the modern music industry. Students build the skills and abilities necessary to confidently and successfully work in this field.

The Music Business Minor incorporates diverse coursework to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of business and how it relates to the music industry. Students begin by learning the fundamentals of accounting, management, marketing and more. Once a student advances to upper-level courses, they choose more specific courses that cater to their interests and career aspirations.

Curriculum Requirements

Students must satisfactorily complete the total credits required for the minor. Minors and interdisciplinary minors require 12 or more upper-division (300- to 400-level) credits.

A minimum grade of C (2.000) or better is required in all courses. 

Additional coursework may be required due to prerequisites.
