Business for a Better World is our shared community vision to create positive, sustainable impact through business education and research.

As I think about our future and the work we have done, I continue to come back to our foundations: community and purpose.

The College of Business genuinely values the faculty, staff, students, alumni, donors and partners who have shaped who we are today. Many members of our community also participated in developing our strategic direction.

Their insights elevated the importance of Colorado State University’s land-grant mission, status as
a Carnegie Research 1 university and sense of purpose to prepare the next generation of business leaders to creatively solve local and global business challenges. Together, we arrived at our vision — Business for a Better World

Business for a Better World: Access, Excellence, Impact,Community

Business for a Better World means moving beyond building strategies to drive profit alone to create solutions that address the environmental and social challenges facing our communities and the world.

Impact MBA students at orientation

The Impact MBA teaches students to prioritize sustainability in business.

This vision is amplified by CSU’s Courageous Strategic Transformation Plan that is focused on driving bold solutions and strategies for a sustainable, thriving planet and a flourishing humanity. I am proud that our College is so deeply aligned with our University in our aspiration to create meaningful change.

Making a difference is increasingly important to
the next generation of students, Generation Z, who are quickly filling our undergraduate and graduate classrooms. To that end, our purpose-driven goals are rooted in expanding student access to an exceptional education, imparting the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate evolving markets, and producing business insights to better our world.

In pursuit of these goals, our initiatives have ranged from hiring our inaugural Director of Social and Cultural Inclusion to integrating ethics and sustainability into our core curriculum. We also launched our Impact MBA program, and increased student access to our top-ranked Online MBA through our Mosaic classroom experience allowing students at a distance to learn alongside their counterparts in the classroom.

We are elated at the progress we’ve made in partnership with our community. However, this is only the beginning. Our shared vision for the future will guide the College for years to come.

Thank you for joining us on this journey – I cannot wait to see what we achieve together.
